MY STORY

My journey began on the East Coast, just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. After earning my Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Northeastern University, the call of adventure led me to the shores of Kauai, Hawaii. There, I honed my skills and garnered life experiences. Pursuing further education, I obtained my master's degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Most of my adult years were spent in Hawaii, where I had the privilege of working extensively with survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. I then gathered more experience across diverse settings, including hospitals, eating disorder treatment programs, outpatient therapy and teaching at a college. These experiences profoundly shaped my values and the person I aspire to be.

What I've learned from my East Coast roots and Hawaiian experiences is the significance of treating individuals with unconditional compassion, and acknowledging the multifaceted human experience of hardship, pain, love, and joy. Authenticity and compassion, for oneself and others, hold immense value for me. I often express that a part of my role is guiding people to see the beauty within themselves and find the love story in their journey, even amid adversity. My passion for helping others stems from my own challenging life experiences and the transformative work I've done to heal and navigate my path. Beyond my role as a therapist, my life is enriched by working alongside my husband in raising our four beautiful children. Our journey to parenthood was marked by a seven-year struggle with infertility, culminating in the blessing of our daughter born from my heart, and our triplet boys, all born within a year and a half of each other. This incredible twist of fate brought us back to the mainland, and we found our home in Stillwater, Minnesota. My husband's roots in Minnesota led us to this wonderful place to raise our big family, and we are truly happy to call Minnesota our home.
